Tayabas City, Quezon – The city of Tayabas kicked off its Women’s Month celebration with a vibrant “Purple Walk,” a testament to the city’s recognition of women’s contributions to society. Led by City Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso and other Barangay officials, the walk started at the historic Casa Comunidad in Poblacion and concluded at the New City Hall Complex in Barangay Baguio.

The event drew a large and diverse crowd, including various women’s organizations, members of the LGBTQ+ community, barangay officials, and representatives from barangay associations. Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Health Workers also participated, alongside employees from the Tayabas City local government.

The parade underscored the city’s appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of women in shaping the community and driving its progress. The purple theme, a symbol of Women’s Month, added a powerful visual element to the demonstration of solidarity and support.
